If a visitor presents with cold or flu-like systems, that individual will not be allowed to visit or stay in the building. All visitors will be asked if they have been advised to self-quarantine because of exposure to someone with COVID-19. If any visitor has been advised to self-quarantine, they will not be allowed to visit. All visitors will be asked if they have been advised to isolate due to COVID-positive status in the last 10 days. If any visitor has been advised to isolate, they will not be allowed to visit.
In addition to the above, gatherings of family members, friends and other acquaintances of the patient in family lounges, waiting areas, the lobby, cafeteria or restaurants on campus will not be allowed.

Maternity
Expectant moms who come to the hospital to deliver will only be permitted to bring one significant other/support person with them. This designated significant other/support person will remain with the expectant mom throughout her stay, and may not transfer their duties to any other person. In addition to a significant other/support person, a doula is also permitted throughout labor, delivery, and the entire postpartum hospital stay. The doula shall not count as the support person.
Upon arrival at the hospital for delivery, patients should enter through the Emergency Department. Both mom and her designated partner will undergo a thorough screening and testing for COVID-19 symptoms, which include sore throat, cough and fever, and then will be masked and escorted to Labor and Delivery.
Once on the Labor and Delivery unit, the significant other/support person must remain with the patient at all times and will have extremely limited access to other areas of the hospital. Please note that the banded support person may leave and re-enter upon the mother’s transfer to Postpartum.
Please note that this visitor policy may be updated as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.
As always, Monmouth Medical Center remains committed to the safety and health of all patients, families, visitors, physicians, nurses and staff.
