Parenting Programs

Strengthening Families

RWJBarnabas Health Institute for Prevention and Recovery hosts Strengthening Families (SF), a free 14-week education program for parents, grandparents and guardians, utilizing the award-winning SF curriculum.

The SF education program assists parents and guardians in enriching existing skills to establish a successful, healthy, substance-free future for their child and becoming better prepared to meet the complexity of today’s parenting challenges. Youth participants in SF practice effective communication techniques, healthy coping strategies and skills for resisting peer pressure. A free family dinner will be provided each week.

Free on-site child care will be provided for children under 10, gifts will be awarded to families with regular attendance and upon completion of the program, a graduation ceremony will be held where all participants receive a certificate.
