About Our Program

Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) is a major academic affiliate of Rutgers University Biomedical and Health Sciences. Located in the seaside community of Long Branch New Jersey, MMC is a fully accredited three year categorical internal medicine residency program with a seventy year history of exceptional internal medicine training. MMC’s Internal Medicine Residency program offers a strong, varied clinical inpatient and outpatient experience and a comprehensive didactic curriculum of lectures as well as interactive medical educational programs. This residency not only excels in the traditional aspects of inpatient clinical experience, but also has developed programs to meet the demands of medical care in the rapidly changing landscape of medical training. Monmouth Medical Center was recently ranked as #29 out of 50 Best Teaching Hospitals in America by Washington Monthly. The overall ranking was for 3300 hospitals based on performance for patient outcomes, civic leadership and value of care.

Graduates of this Internal Medicine Residency program have long distinguished themselves as well respected clinical and academic physicians in the medical community. While many graduates continue their education in well regarded medical fellowship programs in all subspecialties, others successfully pursued primary care in both academic teaching and private practice.
